I added a cleaner edge around, hot glued a key ring to the top, and colored some white string brown.
It’s pretty much done, just needs to be sealed with a little mod podge or something like that. Also took the last two for comparison. The old locket was made out of some silver paper, cardbard, and an ID tag. I made it before there was a lot of good references on the internet.
Take 2 pieces of cardboard, size them up to about the size of a YGO card. Print out the back of a card and cut off the yellow trim on the outside.
On one of the pieces of cardboard, centerize what’s left on the card-back print-out and trace around. Using an exacto-knife or some similar tool, cut along that trace on 3 sides to form a little door. Paste the card-back print-out onto the door.
Print out a screencap of little Seto (or Mokuba, if you’re cosplaying Seto), and paste it onto the other piece of cardboard. Take the cardboard with the door and paste it on top of the second cardboard, forming a frame around little Seto’s picture.
Next, cut out some strips of yellow/gold-ish paper and paste it around the edges of the front and along the sides, as well as a larger piece to cover the back.
Lastly, get a small ring and hot glue it to the top. String some brown string in there, and viola, you’ve got a Kaiba locket. You can also seal the whole thing with some acrylic seal or modpodge or the like to make it waterproof.
The only issue that might arise is that the door might have trouble opening or staying shut. You can carve out a little ledge in the side of the frame to make it easier open. And that’s all there is to it.
